Apparently people still look at this blog. heh.. i miss the blogging days... now facebook has taken over... I guess its easier. Still...looking back at old posts and bringing back old memories is something that facebook just doesnt do.. that being said I want to try to post more often.. not for other people, but FOR ME. To remember the good times. :)
I have been good with Poochers blog so far, Im happy for that! Shes changing so much and theres not one thing I want to miss!

Some things we've been up to this last month?

The biggest and bestest news is that were back in Mexico! Its been great, warm but not too bad, and theres lots of friendly faces and yummy foods that we've missed. heehee

Chris is in training for an english teaching school..he will start teaching next week. and i think its awesome.

Ive started my own little tiny "business" i guess u could say... its something that i enjoy and that i can do while i take care of my ever-so-demanding-but-adorable princess. :)

There! A post! Now I must go because the construction workers next door starting sawing and woke up the baby that took me forever to put to sleep. Im going to give them a piece of my mind! Well not really...

Thank you so much for everything you did for us. I'm so thankful you were here for the birth, you helped me through it & i don't know HOW i could have done it without you there! This is us at 8 months and 8 days... (every 24th of every month its one more month.)
I know its late but my batteries are ALL dead and I'll be honest...im not in a huge hurry to jump in front of a camera haha... but for remembrances sake i quickly snapped one before the cam died yet again just so i can remember (and show my little girl when shes older..."LOOK HOW FAT YOU MADE MOMMY!! :D)

Shes becoming even more active (if i thought that was possible)...she's already a little daddys girl, and gets all excited when he talks to my belly. She gets really still when she first hears his voice and then starts kicking and rolling every where its too cute. Also when we play music or UFC...she goes crazy!!
Pretty much done all the baby shopping... just missing a few little things... so exciting! Its almost over!!!

We're 7 months and a week. Getting more and more uncomfortable by the day, I feel like im wearing a fat suit that weighs a hundred pounds LOL.....Not much else to say except i can't wait to take it off!!! haha...

But when i feel her moving it makes it all worth it...i can't believe how much i already love her. Time, pass faster!!!

Sneaky me taking pictures of a handsome man...teehee. In case ur wondering whats that thing around his neck, thats the reason for this post. The other day during training he got arm-bared and the guy took it a little too far. We went to the hospital and it looks like its just a bad sprain...but still bad enough to where he can't work...and of course not train. At the hospital we saw bjj world champion Emilio Ramirez and he was there with the same injury. Too cool. (haha that sounds mean :P)

& before u say anything...I know... he does seem to injure himself a lot hehe but what can i say...boys will be boys. ;)

Please pray against pain and also for speedy healing as its really not a good time to be taking days off as work is hard to come by as it is. Thank you sooo much, xoxox

...and counting! At 6 months PG, Baby chubs is over 2 and a half pounds. The Doctor says (judging by her size) that she's due June 18th, but we all think shes just a fatty :P.. so im still going by the original due date of July 1st..we'll see i guess.

She's getting more and more active, i can see my belly move and wiggle all over the place like shes trying to get out. Its cute except when she keeps me up till 1 in the morning and wakes me up at 7...hmmm maybe i better just get used to this behavior already.

At the ultrasound today we saw her in 3D and the Doc said she looks "just like daddy." He also says she was 100% a girl, which is a relief cuz tomorrow is our BABY SHOWER and EVERYTHING is PINK! HAHA! :)

Family Taco Day

Aaron was back in Tampico for a few days so we all went out to eat tacos for the kids family day. Soooo much food, i ate as much as i could fit into my squashed stomach, which wasnt as much as other ppl but still left me feeling just as full, heh! Missing a few ppl, but afterwards we snapped sum photos as we were waiting for...something.?!
I posted most of these on facebook as well but since (surprisingly) not everyones on facebook i wanted to post something non-baby related here...which is becoming harder and harder to do..haha!

My little fatty is already over a pound and a foot long, according to the ultrasound we got last week. She also moves and kicks like crazy every time i sit still or lie down, which is just the funnest & most amazing thing ever. She's starting to kick harder so daddy can feel her too...it makes him proud. :)

so the other day we went to the ultrasound and baby girl was covering her face with one hand and making a fist with the other (block and punch)
and last night we were watching UFC (Te-te's idea of course) and the whole time she was kicking and moving, so I got side control on Te'te's belly and was raining down ground and pound (UFC kisses) and right then she kicked me. I was like, I can't believe she kicked me in the face.
First the fist, now this...something tells me she's gonna be a scrapper.

Baby girl is perfectly healthy and growing a little more everyday. She's already almost half a pound (191 grams) and 11 centimeters long. We got to see her kicking her little legs and moving around on the ultrasound. She's already mommy and daddy's little dancer. :)

Today we went for our first ultrasound. Aw, just seeing the baby there, with all its limbs and a perfect little beating heart was such a wonderful high for me, Chris & I couldnt stop smiling. Then we heard the little heartbeat and oooohhhh! I'm so in love already. I couldnt believe how much it looked like a baby, we saw his legs and arms and little fingers and belly...it was amazing. I just can't wait to see him again...and next time we'll find out if its a little spartan or a little princess. :P Either way, we're both so excited.

This one was my favorite. You can see its fingers and little bended legs and foot and adorable belly. heehee.

These pics are scanned and arent as clear as the originals. too bad, but it'll do. Of course seeing it moving on the monitor was totally best, especially when she zoomed up on the little beating heart. :O

well we moved out of the house weve been staying in for the last three months, and i think i speak for both of us when i say YAY. (except, i dont think chris would say yay, eheh)
were staying in his parents home till we go back to mexico (again, YAY) on the 21st.

Still no signs of a baby bump, but im not complaining...:D
todays my first appointment with my midwife but it just so happened that the only available spot open was on a day that chris was out of town, so ill be there all on my lonesome. i wont lie and say im not nervous, but im a big girl. :D

still no pictures. lots of batteries, just no recharger..ugh. its chris birthday in a week so ill sneak pictures of that (dont tell him.)

thanks for your prayers. baby has some behavior issues and likes making me sick at random times of the day. daddy's been giving him talks so hopefully one day he'll listen. (or she :D)

Its official. The Christmas season is here and there's no telling me its not! Christmas music, christmas movies...bring it on. Anyone that knows me knows i have a good collection of the both, and theyve been itching for some attention after many long months of being neglected.

Here's one of my favorite singer singing one of songs that make me feel so christmassy and happy. That also may be due to the fact that when i hear this song im usually full of brandy-spiked coffee. This year I wont be so lucky as our baby here doesnt like brandy(or coffee for that matter, heh)...but im too much of a christmas lover to let that get me down. :D

Latest Happenings and Photos!

SO....:D
We're here in Tampico, leaving tomorrow. Mechanics in mexico are more than enough to give u a few grey hairs, i dont recommend. (:P...not that we had a choice)
Our transmission blew out cuz we overloaded the van, which in turn burnt the engine, and so its been in the shop for over two weeks. Not that it needed that long to get it fixed, but this guy is a little...well...Mexican. :) (we love Mexico! haha)
ANYWAYS...we'll be in the states for a week or so...PLEASE pray for us that it all works out good, that we can sell this car and raise enough money to pay back the expenses of fixing . All thing work out for good, and im dying to see what good is gonna come out of this one..cant wait!

VERY tired after a LONG day!

Hey well, i havent posted in a long time, but not because theres nothing to post about. actually this month has been busy and crazy, and we've been all over the place..literally. Our computer cord decided it didnt want to work anymore, so thats why we havent been online.

anyways..after the wedding we went away for 4 days for a mini-huneymoon...was so fun. after that we went to monterrey for 2 weeks, matamoros for a week and a half, and now were in tampico visiting for a week or so. Tomorrow im going on a road trip for 5 days with 6 other girls...the husband will miss me.`;) hehe

If u ever feel like it, shoot up a prayer or 2 for us...we pretty much havent a clue what were doing or what the future holds...its a little exciting...and a little scary...but the lords always taken care of us so why worry... i have a feeling theres going to be a few new things happening...yey.

Our Wedding

Finally, on June 25th, we had a beautiful, fun, amazing wedding. Even though good old Murphy decided to show his ugly little face a few too many times, in the end things went so well, and i'll never forget what a special day that was. I feel like the luckiest person in the woooorld, we're so happy :)

I want to say special thanks to my mom, with out her this wouldnt have been possible. Thanks for all the help, sacrifices, and love u gave us during this time we've been back, we're sooo thankful! And also to everyone else who helped our day be as perfect as it turned out to be, we love you! :)

Well we've been back in mexico since sunday, we made good time, even though we wore out our car about as much as we could...heh.
I've been super busy planning this wedding, trying not to let it stress me out. So little time and so much to do... oh well.
my sister, mom, and sister in law have been helping me and its actually been lots of fun. its nice to have other girls around for input, theyve been tons of help i couldnt do it alone.
Its so unbelieveably hot here.... i've been sickly & weak since coming back, pretty sure its the heat.

Saturday’s loss highlights three problems with the new and improved Sean Sherk’s game plan, one ostensibly created out of a desire to put on fan-friendly bouts: abandoned wrestling, no straight punches and no head movement.

With nearly 40 professional fights under his belt and a mere four losses, Sherk has one of the most impressive career records of anyone competing inside the Octagon. The overwhelming majority of that success was earned with dominant wrestling and amazing ground-and-pound attacks. Why he opted to completely turn his back on what made him one of the best lightweights in the world is unfathomable. Sherk surely watched Gray Maynard dominate Edgar with takedowns and ground control. There is no reason to believe that Sherk would have been any less successful had he opted to follow the same game plan.

Standing and kickboxing with opponents is not his bread and butter. That isn’t what made him a champion. Sherk needs to get back to his wrestling roots in future fights.

Fighting mostly on the feet is not part of Sherk’s recipe for success. One of the main reasons is that he throws virtually all of his punches with an arc – left hooks, overhand rights, uppercuts, etc. He rarely throws a straight, stiff jab, and I cannot recall the last time he threw a right hand straight down the pipe.

This isn’t an indictment of looping punches. Chuck Liddell made millions throwing what his trainer deems “whipping” shots. Those shots are fine, provided the fighter throwing them has long limbs.

Sherk does not. The former lightweight champ has a modest 67-inch reach. Thus, he needs to get extremely close to his opponent in order to land those shots, since the arc of the strikes results in them covering much less distance than one thrown down the middle. As a result, guys like Edgar can establish the distance with good, crisp jabs and one-two combinations and Sherk is left coming up short with his counters.

The second big hole in Sherk’s standup game is his lack of head movement. He basically walks in with a peek-a-boo stance, ala Mike Tyson. Though unlike Tyson, Sherk doesn’t bob and weave while coming in. Edgar, therefore, was able to use his jab as a range finder and follow it up with good, hard right hands because he knew that Sherk’s head would still be where the jab found it.

Sherk is an extremely explosive athlete with more than his fair share of fast-twitch muscle fiber. His work ethic is beyond reproach. If he works on straightening out his punches and moving his head, he can be a very effective standup fighter. But remember, this is mixed martial arts, not kickboxing, so Sherk needs to seamlessly blend his new preference for striking with his deep wrestling background. Keeping his wrestling as a major part of his attack will make his standup that much more effective because opponents will need to spend much of their attention on anticipating and defending takedowns, rather than slipping and countering punches.

Why would a couple choose to elope?

Cost - Money is the primary reason that marrying couples choose to elope today. According to Bride's magazine, the average U.S. wedding costs approximately $19,104. Bridal gowns, tuxedo rentals, transportation, food, music and venues all cost money which many couples don't have or want to put themselves in debt for. So many newlyweds are deciding to save the money that they would have spent on unwanted guests, 5-course meals and free-bars. They'd rather spend it on their honeymoon or use it as a down payment on a house.

Stress - Let's face it, planning a wedding is stressful! So much so, that many couples won't make it to the altar without killing each other. Many engaged couples would rather relax and enjoy their big day rather then get caught up in wedding planning chaos.

Time - Wedding planning is an endless, time-consuming task. Booking a ceremony and reception location, hiring a wedding photographer, caterer, videographer, florist, cake decorator, DJ, etc., can be a full-time job. Lack of time is often a reason for eloping.

Dealing with others - It's impossible to please everybody and newlyweds often find that the desires of their parents, siblings, bridesmaids and groomsmen often cause more heartache then joy when planning a wedding. In order to avoid this many couples elope.

The grudge is over. After a closely contested 15 minute battle in the co-main event of UFC 98 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, fierce rivals and former welterweight

champions Matt Hughes and Matt Serra finally settled their differences, with Hughes winning a unanimous decision over the trash-talking Serra.
Scores were 29-28 across the board for Hughes.
Not surprisingly, there was no touch of gloves to start the bout. At the sound of the bell, the crowd alternated cheers for both fighters, and then erupted as a clash of heads hurt Hughes and dropped him. Serra tried to finish the fight on the mat, but Hughes escaped and got back to his feet, only to get rocked once again.
“I didn’t know exactly what hit me, but he obviously hit me pretty good,” said Hughes.
“I wanted to keep my cool and try to finish him off,” said Serra. “He’s got a good chin and he hung in there.”
Once Hughes cleared his head, he was able to bull Serra into the fence. After a stalemate, Serra got loose and looked to strike paydirt once again. With 1:40 to go though, it was Hughes getting back in the game with a huge takedown that jarred Serra. Hughes then was able to take the New Yorker’s back, but Serra escaped and waved Hughes in, yelling “come on,” moments before the bell intervened.
The standup was tense for the first minute of round two before Hughes closed the distance and took Serra to the mat. While there, Hughes fired away with his free hand as Serra tried to weather the attack and find a way back to his feet. But it wasn’t going to happen until referee Steve Mazzagatti stood the fighters up with ten seconds left in the round, not nearly enough time for Serra to make something happen and salvage the round.
With the fight possibly up for grabs, Serra tried to keep it standing in the final round, but Hughes wasn’t having it, as he got the takedown with a minute gone. Hughes tried to score points by staying busy with his free hand, and with under three minutes left, he bulled Serra into the fence. Serra briefly tried for a submission from his back, but Hughes easily pulled free and resumed his ground attack. With 1:45 left, Mazzagatti stood the fighters, and Serra taunted Hughes to hit him. Moments later, Serra stunned Hughes with a takedown and then began his own ground attack, but before he could do anything, the bell sounded, ending the fighting and cementing Matt Hughes as the winner.

I know we havent really been posting, or taking pictures. its not like were too lazy to take the pics, were just too lazy to recharge our batteries. ;)

okay so its been a while...we moved to a place a little over a week ago that doesnt have internet so dont be expecting toooo much on this blog for a little while (not to long hopefully hehe)
a few changes, first were gonna be in canada until beginning or mid may...sadly. its so darn cold. its been actually SNOWING all day these last 2 days. in APRIL. im so bitter, sigh. Hehe but yah basically were gonna be working our little bums off till then, but were not complaining, its what weve been praying for!
that being said, since we are staying longer we are also postponing the wedding till the 15th of June 2009. write that down ;)
im so happy though, the 4 of us got a gym membership for the rest of the time were here for a super good price in the best gym...that at least makes me happy.
well times run up, we just came here to get online and do a bunch of business and im just sneaking a post while chris is cutting his hair. hehe...i should go. lots of love to you. ;)

Its been a while since i wrote on here about whats been going on..
:D
well after our eventful but fun trip up, after a few breakdowns and traffic jams, we made it safely here to Toronto...cold and...yah cold. we miss mexico!!
It was time for my every-so-often coffee fast, where i quit for a few weeks to cleanse etc. after a trip like that where we lived off coffee, i was more addicted than i was before, if thats possible. i was out with such a horrible migraine that lasted a couple days, and the day after i came down sick. i hadnt been sick like that for a really long time, i had like zero strength left. so that was the first week of canada...in bed. hehe... TTL ive been up and around and feeling a lot stronger, i was able to work out twice now, and for that im thankful!!!
We wanna thank everyone who's been praying for us, for my healing as well as for the work were looking into doing..things are looking up! You guys back home, ur the bestest ;)
i havent been able to take pictures but yes i will soon. (i promised marianne :P)
and the home here is super nice and everyones really sweet, we're super blessed.
id talk about more but theres no pics so that makes for a boringish post... ill be back with some soon hopefully heh.

Sniff. As much as i was looking forward to this change of scenery, gosh ima miss this place soo much...all the people, all the memories, sigh... so much to leave behind. I know its late but this is the recap of UFC 94 which occured on January 31st, where Montreal native Georges St. Pierre manhandled Baby Jay Penn, the loud-mouthed arrogant Ju Jitsu blackbelt from Hawaii. Pictures and story follows.

Georges St. Pierre (c) vs. B.J. Penn

Round 1: Penn and GSP traded knees early. GSP was going for a takedown, but Penn was balancing himself on one leg. GSP kept trying for the takedown, but Penn wouldn't go down. Both men landed some good shots, but neither was overwhelmingly dominant. 10-9 for GSP.

Round 2: Penn landed a good jab early. Penn is already looking a little tired. GSP took Penn down and landed a good elbow.GSP passed Penn's guard and pinned him down and started dropping punches. Penn looks exhausted already. GSP is landing all sorts of shots from the top. GSP spent the rest of the round on top of BJ dropping elbows and cutting Penn under the left eye. 10-8 GSP.

Round 3: GSP landed a good right that busted BJ's nose. GSP keeps jabbing away at Penn, picking him apart.GSP got a takedown and landed several shots from the top. Finally with 2:00 left, Penn worked his way back to his feet. It didn't last long as GSP took Penn down again. At this point, Penn is not looking in the same league as GSP, it's reminiscent of the GSP - Fitch fight where GSP was taking Fitch apart, but Fitch was able to hang on. 10-9 for GSP.

Round 4: St. Pierre is landing some good jabs early and got another takedown. GSP was landing a ton of shots and was getting warned about hitting the back of the head. GSP was able to mount BJ and dominated BJ. 10-8 for GSP.

At the end of the round, BJ Penn's brother called the fight off and GSP got the win.

i absolutely love this quote. some of it applies to my life right now. its sad how ppl dont really realize what they do or say affects others so much. its sad how others make up their mind about you without even trying to get to know you. its amazing the things people go through while everyone around them has no clue whats going on inside.
my mind is in a thousand places. every now and then it shows a bit. I try to hide it, but theres only so much i can do. this is teaching me not to judge other people, but try to imagine what their going through. i dont want sympathy, just dont judge me.
i have 3 options: get depressed about it, pretend not to care, or put it all in the Lords hands and REALLY not care. hehe..yah the last one sounds the most appealing.
cuz even though i feel like **** maybe its a good thing. the lord can break me and remake me all He wants, cuz like this quote says, its between me and Him anyway.
